About Our Founder Johanna Scullion
Johanna Scullion is a Chartered Member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (Chartered MCIPD). She has been a Human Resources Professional since 1999, with experience gained initially in industry before moving into the professional consultancy sector in 2003: working with Grant Thornton UK LLP as both HR Consultant and Staff Development Manager; followed by Deloitte in its UK Human Capital Consultanting Service Line. Between the years of 2005 and 2016 Johanna also lectured part-time with the University of Ulster at Jordanstown in Human Resource Management and Organisational Behaviour. She is trained and certified in administering psychometric testing techniques of Thomas International and acts as expert panel member for interviewing purposes.
Working with clients with workforces of 10 through to organisations with 9,000 staff Johanna has taken lead roles in a wide range of assignments from interim HR solutions to multi-level operational HR projects, strategic organisation design and change projects. Her client portfolio includes NI and UK Public Sector Government Departments, Local Government Councils, social enterprise agencies, schools, colleges, universities, accountancy practices, dentists, architect practices, hospitality sector, auctioneers, social change organisations, diary co-operatives, construction, retail, IT, call-centres, province wide membership bodies, voluntary and not for profit organisations.
In 2012 Johanna took the plunge into the world of entrepreneurship establishing her own boutique HR consultancy practice called HR Department NI. HRDNI specialises in providing employment advice and Outsourced Human Resources Services to start-up companies, small and medium sized businesses based in Northern Ireland. HRDNI is passionate about providing smaller businesses with a portfolio of professional human captial management services, often associated only with large scale businesses. Through her consultancy practice Johanna strives to be the best in Northern Ireland by delivering excellent customer service for all of our clients, working hard at our reputation for professionalism, reliability and integrity.
In 2017 Johanna realised a long-term dream of launching an online service providing professionally drafted HR documents and templates for small businesses. www.thehrdocshop.com was born.
Who We Are
The HR Doc Shop™ was founded by Johanna Scullion in May 2017 when she took her consultancy practice online. Johanna’s premium consultancy services are in high demand and she decided to merge her original consultancy practice “HR Department NI” under the new brand for the HR Doc Shop™.
Created and are managed by Johanna Scullion a qualified HR Professional and Consultant, we understand what small business owners need. The HR Doc Shop™ is built on the foundations of over 18 years’ experience in business, across the varied sectors of private; public; not for profit; and professional consultancy services.
The new site provides a unique offering both an online service designed for small business owners who want professionally drafter HR documents and templates available for instant download; as well as helping those business owners seeking to find an experienced and qualified HR Consultant to work with them in their business.
What We Do

Why We Do It
We honestly do believe good HR delivers real results for businesses and we are passionate about providing small businesses with access to professionally drafted HR templates regardless of their size.
Having worked with small business owners for years we understand and appreciate that sometimes you have too much on your plate and HR is often put on the bottom of the to do list. But when it rises to the top of the list we know that business owners want that job done NOW, so our ready to edit templates means that letter can move off “your to do list” to the post tray/ outbox as quick as you want.
We believe our customers deserve the best and strive to deliver excellent customer care in all that we do. Business owners want flexibility, they want to be able to get as much or as little help as they need at any time and we get that. We know some of our customers, just want access to one letter template on that day – and we are happy to provide that option. Other business owners want the full suite of templates all at once – and we can gladly provide that too. We believe businesses come in all shapes and sizes and so should HR resources.
